What a Migrant Workers Office actually does

01

Verifies the employer

Checks company registration, trade licence, financial standing and hiring history before anyone is deployed.

02

Verifies the contract

Reviews wages, hours, overtime, insurance, accommodation and repatriation against DMW minimum standards.

03

Accredits the job order

Issues the accreditation that lets a DMW-licensed agency raise and fill a job order for that employer.

04

Protects the worker

Runs welfare, legal and repatriation assistance for Filipinos already working in its jurisdiction.

MWO questions employers ask

What is an MWO?

A Migrant Workers Office (MWO) is the overseas arm of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers. Formerly known as POLO, it verifies employers and employment contracts, accredits companies that want to hire Filipino workers, and provides welfare assistance to Filipinos already working in its jurisdiction.

Do I need to go through an MWO to hire Filipino workers?

Yes. Any employer hiring workers from the Philippines must be verified and accredited by the MWO covering their country before the Department of Migrant Workers will approve a job order. There is no legal route around it.

Which MWO covers Poland and the Baltic states?

MWO Prague. There is no MWO in Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga or Tallinn — the post in Prague covers the Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine. Polish employers file their zezwolenie na pracę or oświadczenie there together with company registration.

My country has no MWO — what then?

Most countries are covered concurrently by a post in a neighbouring country. Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia are handled by MWO Budapest; Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia by MWO Vienna; the Nordics and Ireland by MWO London; France and Portugal by MWO Madrid. Search above to find yours.

How long does MWO accreditation take?

With a complete document set, verification typically takes two to four weeks. Incomplete company documents, unverified contracts or missing translations are the usual cause of delays.

Can Praxis handle the MWO process for us?

Yes. As a DMW-licensed agency we prepare and file the accreditation package, coordinate with the MWO on your behalf, and keep the job order moving through to deployment.

Is this the official DMW directory?

No. This is a reference guide maintained by Praxis International for employers, based on the DMW MWO Directory and Jurisdiction dated 09 October 2025. Always confirm current contact details and jurisdiction with the Department of Migrant Workers before filing.
