Deployment destination: SlovakiaHire Skilled Filipino Workers for Your Operations in Slovakia
Praxis International connects Slovak employers with qualified, experienced and deployment-ready Filipino workers across automotive, manufacturing, construction, logistics and skilled trades.
Praxis International is your dedicated recruitment partner for sourcing qualified, experienced and work-ready Filipino workers for employers across Slovakia. We specialise exclusively in Filipino worker recruitment, giving Slovak employers direct access to one of the world's most trusted overseas workforces.
Why Choose Slovakia for Filipino Workers?
Slovakia's automotive, engineering and logistics base has largely exhausted the domestic labour pool, and shortage occupations are published district by district. Manufacturing, construction, warehousing, food processing and services all report continuing vacancies for non-EU workers.
Filipino workers in Slovakia are recognised for technical ability, professional conduct and dependable work ethic — a strong fit for plants and projects that need quality output and long-term workforce stability.
Fully Managed Process
Praxis gives Slovak employers direct access to this workforce through a fully managed, compliant and efficient recruitment process — from sourcing to deployment.

Work Permit and Visa Process
Slovakia runs the employment of third-country nationals through Act 5/2004 on Employment Services and Act 404/2011 on the Residence of Foreigners, most recently amended by Act No. 128/2026 Coll. in force since 15 July 2026. The employer reports the vacancy to ÚPSVaR, the labour office issues the confirmation that the vacancy can be filled, and the worker obtains temporary residence for the purpose of employment plus a national D visa. Roles on the shortage occupations list skip the labour market test and are decided in 30 days instead of 90. Praxis runs the labour office lane, the embassy step and DMW clearance as one connected process.
What happens inside the lane
- 01Job Order Approval (DMW)
Job Order Approval (DMW)
Recruitment opens only after the job order is verified under Philippine DMW rules — employer documents, manpower request and the model employment contract are cleared first.
- 02Vacancy Reported to the Labour Office (ÚPSVaR)
Vacancy Reported to the Labour Office (ÚPSVaR)
The Slovak employer must report the vacancy to the local Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, including the requirement that it be filled by a third-country national. The vacancy generally has to be published for at least 20 working days before the residence application is filed — this is the labour market test.
- 03Occupation Check — Shortage Occupations List
Occupation Check — Shortage Occupations List
ÚPSVaR publishes a list of occupations with a labour shortage (nedostatkové profesie) for districts with an average unemployment rate below 5%. Roles on that list follow a simplified route with no labour market test and a shorter decision period, so the occupation and district are verified before the file is built.
- 04Confirmation of the Possibility of Filling a Vacancy or Employment Permit
Confirmation of the Possibility of Filling a Vacancy or Employment Permit
Most Filipino hires run through the temporary residence for the purpose of employment, where the labour office issues a potvrdenie o možnosti obsadenia voľného pracovného miesta (confirmation that the vacancy can be filled). Specific categories — for example seasonal work or secondment — instead need a separate employment permit (povolenie na zamestnanie).
- 05Temporary Residence for the Purpose of Employment
Temporary Residence for the Purpose of Employment
The worker files the residence application at the Slovak embassy accredited for the Philippines, or at a foreign police department. The file includes the employment contract or promise of employment, criminal record extract, proof of accommodation, financial means and the labour office confirmation. The foreign police decide within 90 days, reduced to 30 days for shortage occupations.
- 06National Visa (D) for Entry
National Visa (D) for Entry
Once residence is granted, the worker is issued a national D visa to travel to Slovakia and collect the residence card. Under Act No. 128/2026 Coll., in force since 15 July 2026, a national-visa holder who then applies for temporary residence for employment must be employed in the same job position — job switching mid-process is no longer possible.
- 07DMW Processing
DMW Processing
In parallel, Praxis completes Philippine-side requirements — contract verification, Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) and DMW clearances.
- 08Medical Clearance and PDOS
Medical Clearance and PDOS
Candidates pass the DMW-accredited medical examination and attend the mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar covering the contract, their rights and Slovak workplace expectations.
- 09Deployment
Deployment
Workers travel only after residence is approved, the visa is issued and every government clearance is secured — never on a promise.
- 10Arrival Formalities in Slovakia
Arrival Formalities in Slovakia
The worker reports to the foreign police, submits the Slovak medical report confirming fitness within 30 days of collecting the residence card, and the employer files the information card (informačná karta) with the labour office within 7 working days of the employment start.
Intake, contracts and DMW job order
Sourcing, shortlisting and employer interviews
Vacancy publication and labour office confirmation
Residence decision, D visa and deployment
Actual timing depends on employer readiness, the 20-working-day vacancy publication, whether the occupation sits on the ÚPSVaR shortage list for that district, the 90-day or 30-day foreign police decision period, embassy appointment slots and final DMW clearance. Praxis keeps each dependency visible and re-checks the current shortage list before committing to a date.
